Bolton Liberal Democrats have invited Council Leader Cllr Cliff Morris and Bolton Labour to second a proposed motion to combat homelessness, as figures show rough sleeping in the town has more than doubled since 2014.

Up to 1835 children living in poverty across Bolton will have their lunches taken away under Theresa May's plans to abolish universal free school lunches for infants, Liberal Democrat research has revealed. In total 9985 children in Bolton are set to lose out under the plans.

The Asons grant scrutiny meeting on Wednesday 11th January was probably the most well-attended Scrutiny meeting in Bolton's long history with a packed house at the Queens Park Pavilion Cafe and thousands watching the Liberal Democrats live feed online. It was also one of the most controversial with lots more questions coming out and not an awful lot of clarity. That said, here are eight things we learnt from the meeting.
