After her re-election, Carole Swarbrick was inaugurated as the Mayor of Bolton for 2015/16. This was supported by all parties and showed the respect in which she is held across the Council.

Do you want mental health services to get a fair deal in our NHS? People suffering from mental ill health have been let down by the NHS for decades. One in four of us who suffer from a mental illness in our lifetime, but there is an institutional bias against mental health, and it always been that way. Just £1 out of every £9 is spent on treating mental illnesses.

Whilst Bolton Liberal Democrats echo calls by the Bolton Tory Chief for an investigation into the highly unusual increase in the postal voter late-list, we would like to express our disappointment at Cllr Greenhalgh and Cllr Thomas for using our Bolton Asian community as a political football.

Bolton Liberal Democrats have called on Bolton Council to take action in order to protect over 8,500 Bolton Council employee pensions after it was revealed that £1.3 billion of public funds has been invested in fossil fuel investments through the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF).

Every weekend thousands, of people from Bolton and Salford take the trip into Manchester to enjoy the nightlife. Be it to visit the many bars and restaurants, go to gigs, or simply to visit friends. Many of these rely on the 36 or number 8 Night bus to get them home safely - and cheaply.

A Bolton Liberal Democrat motion calling for councillors to attend all future council meetings in medieval attire is set to be debated at the next council meeting on Wednesday 13th April.

A Freedom of Information Request by the Bolton Liberal Democrats looking into "the amount of money paid or to be paid by Bolton Council in legal fees and other resources expanded in attempts to ensure the identity of a councillor who failed to pay their Council Tax on time remained anonymous." has revealed costs totalling nearly £8,000, more than double the £3660 that Council Leader Cliff Morris outlined was paid in legal fees.
